Porsche Cayenne 2025

Porsche Cayenne 2025 – Porsche is adding another model to its updated Cayenne range, a model that will delight driving enthusiasts. The GTS returns with a more powerful V-8 and performance components from the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT. Mid-size luxury SUV rivals to the 2025 Porsche Cayenne include the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.

The third-generation Porsche Cayenne has received major updates for 2024 that include revised styling, updated powertrains and suspension, and improved technology. For 2025, the twin-turbo V-8 Cayenne GTS returns with model-specific tuning and distinctive styling cues. Soft-close doors, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera are now standard, and the available Premium package Plus gets HD-Matrix Design LED headlights. Porsche is also improving the air filtration in the cabin of the 2025 Cayenne.

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne is the kind of midsize SUV you’d expect from a company that also makes 911s and Caymans. Each engine variant of the crossover smoothly delivers plenty of grunt, with the fastest models seemingly defying logic. The Cayenne also has powerful brakes, incredible lateral grip and steering response. Build quality is excellent, and Porsche offers plenty of performance-enhancing options for lower trim levels as well. Hit the throttle and whatever the drivetrain, the Cayenne’s engine should sound amazing throughout the song.

Porsche Cayenne Prices, Reviews, And Photos

The high retail price tops the list of negatives, as it can be very expensive with options or over the base model. At these prices, you’d think Porsche could give the Cayenne a better backup camera than the low-res version it has now. The SUV’s fuel economy remains unimpressive and doesn’t improve much with the hybrid model.

However, the Cayenne is no SUV when it comes to driver engagement and attitude. There are more practical vehicles than the Cayenne, but Porsche challenges you to find one that is more enjoyable to drive.

The new Cayenne GTS delivers 40 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque more than the previous version, making it the most powerful gas-only model in the 2025 lineup. It gets a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD like the others. Fuel economy and range figures haven’t been released yet, but we think the plug-in E-Hybrid models should be able to get around 30 miles of all-electric travel.

Porsche says the 2025 Cayenne GTS is aimed more at on-road performance, and to that end it comes with several model-specific features. It comes standard with adaptive air suspension and torque vectoring, while the suspension allows for a 10mm lower ride height than other 2025 models with air suspension. Traction and body roll control is also said to offer a higher level of road-focused performance.

The GTS borrows a few tricks from the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT. It gets the Coupe’s front axle pivot bearings, which create more negative camber for improved cornering and handling performance. The GTS also has a Turbo GT water-cooled carrying case.

Exterior cosmetic additions limited to the GTS include black model logos on the sides and rear of the Cayenne, a front fascia with larger air vents, blacked-out headlights and taillights, and red brake calipers. It also gets the Sport Design package, which adds gloss black (instead of body color like the last GTS) rocker panels, window surrounds, wheel arch extensions and inserts. Previously finished in black, the standard sports exhaust trim is now painted in dark bronze. The new Cayenne GTS also comes with 21-inch gray wheels and an adaptive rear spoiler.

Options include additional exhaust tips as part of three different available Lightweight Sport packages, which can reduce vehicle weight by up to 55 pounds. Race Tex microfiber upholstery adorns the cabin, and interior packages are available in carmine red or slate gray.

The Cayenne 2025 comes with a range of driver assistance features including lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors and active speed limiter. Adaptive cruise control costs extra, but the model’s 360-degree camera with active park assist is new standard equipment for this year.

The non-hybrid Cayenne offers the most luggage space, but even so, the BMW X5 offers more capacity. Porsche doesn’t usually reveal passenger compartment specifications.

Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch central display, a 12.6-inch digital cluster, Apple CarPlay and a wireless phone charger. Soft-close doors and ambient lighting are new standard features this year. Super high-tech, adaptive matrix LED headlights are available via the $6,600 Plus Premium package. Porsche also offers an available 10.9-inch passenger display, heated rear seats and a panoramic sunroof.

Order books are open for the 2025 Cayenne, with deliveries in the fall of 2024. The opulent GTS comes with a sticker price of $126,895 that includes a new higher $1,995 delivery fee of $345. As for the rest of the lineup, the base Cayenne starts at $86,695, while the top-of-the-line Turbo E-Hybrid stickers for $158,995.

Porsche’s Cayenne was the first crossover the German automaker added to its lineup, and while it caused quite a stir in the enthusiast community, it has since become one of its best-selling vehicles. The Cayenne range has also been extensively developed and now includes a number of performance variants as well as a plug-in hybrid capable of more than 25 miles in EV mode.

The first prototypes of the next-generation Porsche Cayenne SUV hit the icy roads of Lapland, hiding a new all-electric chassis and engine that will form the second pillar of the brand’s future SUV lineup. The Cayenne, which will be based on the PPE platform introduced in the new Macan, will have a mountain to climb when it arrives in 2025. When that happens, it will have to live up to the undiminished success of the last three generations while joining a tough future market full of high-end SUV competitors.

Review: 2025 Porsche Cayenne Gts Splits The V 8 Difference

The Cayenne prototype spotted is still in the ‘mule’ phase, using the Macan’s extended bodywork to hide its new hardware underneath. The Cayenne will be one of the larger models based on the PPE platform, with a battery that will almost certainly be larger than the 100 kWh unit used in the Macan. It should also have a twin-motor drive setup – presumably with some sort of rear-axle torque vectoring setup.

To disguise the next Cayenne’s heavy weight, the prototype also appears to feature air suspension and rear-wheel steering, with possible implementation of the clever new active suspension system previously revealed on the Panamera.

Like the smaller Macan, the new Cayenne will be powered by an 800 V electrical system that in its current form can support up to 270 kW of charging. It is also flexible, so it has the ability to split its 800V system when connected to a charger optimized for a 400V system without the need for a converter, saving weight and complexity.

However, for many, the appeal of the Cayenne is likely to lie in its combination of next-generation sportiness, premium styling, a high-quality cabin and impressive driving dynamics, while still offering good practicality. It’s still early days, but there’s a good chance that separate SUV and Coupe body styles will be available again.

Porsche Cayenne Gts Brings Balance And Force

The Cayenne has long been a key model for the German brand, which together with the Macan accounts for the largest share of total vehicle sales. As a result, the existing petrol Cayenne is expected to continue to be sold alongside the new electric vehicle, especially given that it has just received another major update.

However, the new Cayenne won’t be the flagship SUV for much longer after its launch in 2025, and Porsche has already confirmed that a new K1 flagship crossover will arrive above the Cayenne in 2026. That model will be based on a new platform specifically for Porsche called the SSP Sport, representing the next generation battery and chassis technologies, also finding a home in the next-generation Taycan and Panamera.
