Lucid Gravity 2025 – 2025 Lucid Gravity promises a range of up to 440 miles, priced under $80,000 Lucid’s first SUV is funky, futuristic and full of screens. So many screens.
After years of teasers, Lucid finally unveiled its first SUV, the Gravity, on Thursday. The all-electric utility vehicle has a range of more than 440 miles and a starting price of less than $80,000, with production expected to begin in late 2024.

Lucid says the Gravity is an electric luxury SUV without compromise. Inside, there’s seating for seven or, with the second and third rows folded, more than 112.0 cubic feet of storage space. Gravity can handle payloads of over 1,500 pounds and carry up to 6,000 pounds. Without a trailer, Lucid says the Gravity will accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

This sports car-like acceleration is due to a new platform developed from the ground up for the company’s 900-volt electrical architecture. Lucid describes the battery as smaller, lighter and more durable, capable of adding up to 200 kilometers in about 15 minutes. It’s connected to self-designed electric motors, which the company says are the most efficient in production today.
The Gravity can also impress off-road with an optional air suspension system that Lucid calls Zero Gravity. It can automatically raise and lower itself based on different terrain needs, according to the company. For those who prefer to manually adjust the height of the vehicle, the system offers the possibility to do so.
Lucid makes a big deal about the Gravity’s interior, describing the cabin as “an experience designed for the body and mind. To that end, the company has added a feature called Lucid Spaces that, with a touch of the touchscreen, ‘transforms the cabin.’ it immerses them in the peaceful atmosphere of places like the lake or Joshua Tree by displaying the scenery on the cabin screens, adjusting the cabin lighting and playing ambient sounds through a speaker system.
Like Lucid’s other car, the Air sedan, the dashboard is made up mostly of screens, with a huge 34-inch wide array running the length of the driver’s side and the center of the space forward. Above the center console is Lucid’s “Pilot Panel,” which is a fancy name for a new screen that controls things like vehicle settings and climate.
Lucid Gravity (2025)
The Gravity very clearly borrows much of its exterior design from its Air sibling, with similar front and rear fascias, sharp, thin headlights with a blade-like nose. We describe it as beautiful and a cut above the lifeless and often awkward-looking issues of other leading luxury manufacturers.
While the maximum range numbers and starting price have been released, it’s not clear how expensive the Gravity, which has the largest range, will be, or how much the cheapest Gravity will be. If the Air sedan’s numbers are anything to go by, you can expect the sub-$80,000 gravity to get a hefty 300 miles of range. Also, don’t be surprised to see the 440-mile Gravity priced in the six-figure range. Love it or hate it, 2025 Lucid Gravity has arrived. The Lucid SUV will raise our standards just like the Air sedan did when it won the 2022 Car of the Year Award. The Gravity isn’t just an Air SUV, it’s a sedan with a wagon body and raised suspension. No, the new Gravity is an aerial evolution, and it makes us feel… a lot. We have a lot of feelings about this.
As the editor-in-chief who currently drives the Lucid Air test car daily, this writer can’t tell you how often he wishes he had a roomier cabin. Because we have seen that people of all heights – not only tall people – are at risk of throwing their heads in the air. Some also found the Air’s driving position a bit claustrophobic.
Enter 2025’s Lucid Gravity – no, really, you’re better off going in with no brain. This thoroughly modern SUV is tall enough for smoother ingress and egress, but has a long, low profile that vaguely resembles an early 2000s Isuzu Axiom. (Don’t you remember? It was in the movie

S – still nothing?) However, Air sedan fans will recognize the Gravity as part of the Lucid family.
However, we suspect it’s no coincidence that Lucid shows Gravity at one of its highest suspension heights. With a lower suspension height and especially smaller wheels, the stylish Gravity should look almost car-like, a visual contrast to the boxy and adventurous Rivian R1S. To each their own, right?
The Gravity is available in two-row, five-seat and three-row versions, and seven-passenger versions. We’re told a six-passenger Gravity with second-row captain’s chairs will be considered later.
Also new to Lucid? A rear-wheel drive system and an air suspension that automatically adjusts according to speed are available. Both technologies can make a big difference in ride quality, slow speeds and the overall driving experience when they work well. When Gravity goes on sale in the second half of 2024, we’ll see if Lucid can introduce these features without too many bugs at launch.
Lucid Gravity Up Close: Grounded In Luxury
Lucid’s engineering excellence has taken the EV space by storm with a luxury sedan that’s fast, fun to drive, and efficient, and still manages more than 500 EPA-rated miles on select models. Unparalleled in the luxury segment, we have high hopes for the 2025 Gravity SUV.
Using the Air’s new chassis, according to Lucid, the Gravity has updated engines and a sub-0.24 drag coefficient (on certain trims), though details are thin at this point. We know that the floor is not a different height for the two batteries; In the air, you gain about three inches of rear-seat legroom, giving up the larger battery that fits in the passenger’s legroom.
Don’t expect gravity to reach 500 miles unless you’re driving down a very, very long hill. Instead, wait for at least one Gravity cut to reach at least 440 miles. The Tesla Model X has a range of less than 350 miles and the Rivian R1S has a range of 400 miles with a larger battery. Lucid claims the Gravity can add up to 200 kilometers of range in 15 minutes thanks to its 300kW charging speed.
Dual-motor four-wheel drive is standard on the 2025 Gravity, though the company isn’t ruling out a single-motor rear-wheel version. If enough customers warm to Gravity and don’t need a price cut like Air, Gravity’s delay is unlikely to happen.
Lucid Gravity Prices, Reviews, And Pictures
By now, looking at our photos of the 2025 Gravity, you can probably tell that this Lucid isn’t a rock crawler like the R1S. However, the Gravity has an off-road mode that sets the air suspension height to its highest position with full torque – it looks like fun. We’re curious what the ground clearance is like in an SUV as boulevard-ready as this one. Wheel options are 20-inch front and 21s rear, 21s front and 22s rear, or 22s front and 23s rear.
Towing capacity is 6,000 pounds, which is 1,700 pounds less than you can tow in a Rivian R1S or Audi Q7, but infinitely more than what the Air sedan can tow.
Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph can be achieved in 3.5 seconds per Lucid. We don’t have horsepower and torque yet, but the 2025 Gravity will have at least 480 horsepower. At launch, the Gravity models will be matched by the 620hp Touring and 819hp Grand Touring models. Will Lucid build a stronger Gravity Sapphire? Given how good the 1,234-hp Air Sapphire performed in our tests, fingers crossed.
2025 is the same theme as Lucid Gravity: similar to, but not identical to, Air. Lucid’s head of engineering, Derek Jenkins, says Lucid has had a “real growth curve” since Air was originally launched. And that’s good to hear, because in our experience, Lucid Air’s undeniable goodness is often marred by minor technical issues.

In fact, these aren’t just technical glitches: in our year-long Air test car, one of the steering wheel buttons came off during gentle use. To the left and right of the Gravity’s steering wheel are touch screens, which also have a sliding area and four flat buttons. The steering wheel is now circular, so it is flat at the bottom and top. Jenkins says Lucid tested 27 different bikes, and yes, the Tesla-style yoke was among them.
All of the upgraded OLED screens have been tuned, and we’re told the system should be more reliable than over-the-air. The bezels on the top screen are taller and thinner at the top. That 34-inch long screen has a small control panel to the left of the steering wheel.
